The online application submission process of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2015 (GATE 2015) has been extended from Wednesday, October 1 to Tuesday , October 14, 2014. According to information at the official website, the extension is being granted due to the flood situation in the areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Similar to last year, no Indian university features among the global top 200 list of institutes, according to the 2014 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, which was published recently. IITs planning to ease top 20 percentile criteria for admissions

The premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are planning to change the top 20 percentile criteria for admissions, two years after it was introduced. India's first Railway University to be based on Chinese model

The proposed Railway University for India, a first in the country, will be based on the Chinese model of such institutes, according to Railway Ministry officials.
