HRD Ministry has seemed to be agreed on the proposal of IIT's and NIT's for scrapping of left out seats at the institutions. The institutes will either reduce the number of seats in program or discontinue some of the least chosen courses and new courses will be introduced. Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)   who are regulated by the apex councils may soon be allowed to set their own fee structure without consulting the concerned governing body. As per the sources, the move is to give IIT’s full authority and freedom to maintain their campus as per their wish.
