The MAMC Campus has witnessed numerous episodes in the history of Delhi, and is surely the most historic campus around.The college is named after a great patriot and educationist, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The foundation of the main building of the college was laid by Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the then home minister of India, on 24th October 1959. This building was declared open by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, on 26th February 1961. Since then the college has trained 5,802 medical graduates, 172 dental graduates and 2,722 post-graduates.One thing every Maulanian is proud of is the fact that the campus used to be the Delhi Jail !!!
