The Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (popularly known as SJMSOM or simply SOM) is the school for management education and research in Indian Institute of Technology(IIT)Bombay . SJMSOM was established in 1995 to promote interdisciplinary learning and to keep up with the changing environment. It had the objective of transforming professionals with technological background into "Renaissance Leaders" of tomorrow. In the year 2000, the school was renamed to Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, in honor of Dr. Shailesh J. Mehta, a distinguished alumnus of IIT Bombay and a contributor to the school. SJMSOM draws on the varied intellectual resources of being situated in a technological institute with a strong background in entrepreneurship.
