If due to some reason you could not appear for AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam) paper pencil based test on April 29 then you still have a second chance to make it online.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), conducting body of AIEEE has decided to allow the absentees of AIEEE offline mode to appear in the computer based test scheduled to commence from May 7, 2012. Candidates aspiring to enroll in BTech/B.E courses can take the test as B Arch paper was available only in the paper pencil based format.
The online version will be conducted two times a day on multiple days. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website of AIEEE www.aieee.nic.in before May 5, 2012. However, candidates cannot opt for the first online test date, May 7, 2012 but can choose any date starting from May 12, 19 and 26. The dates will be allotted by CBSE depending on the availability.
Surprisingly, despite of Nagpur being a completely online test center, large number of students had opted for offline test. About 21000 applicants took the test at Amravati, which was the closest offline center.
About 10 lakh candidates had opted for offline test across India while 1.64 will be taking the online version. The CBSE clarified that the board will verify the details after receiving the applications to ensure that students are not misusing the second opportunity.
