ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions) is conducted by Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). ATMA 2012 entrance exam will be held on Sunday, December 09, 2012. It will be an online entrance exam held for admission to the post-graduate programs in Management (e.g PGDM, PGDBA, MBA, MCA, MCM, etc.) offered by various institutes/universities.
ATMA has always been a paper-pencil based test. But from 2012 onwards ATMA will be conducted 5 times a year. While the first exam will be conducted in a paper-pencil format, the next 4 tests will be held in an online format.
Let us go through the paper pattern for ATMA:
There are 180 questions spread over six sections. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and is conducted computer-based. Paper has multiple choice questions followed by four options. The areas of the test are Quantitative Skills, Verbal Skills and Analytical Reasoning Skills. There are two sections based on each area. The following table shows the structure of ATMA:
As this will be the first time when ATMA will be conducted online, candidates are advised to practice a number of online model test papers before taking the main exam. Solving model papers makes you familiar with the paper pattern of the exam, gives you a feel of the online test, makes you familiar with the navigations and increases your speed.
