The engineering entrance exams such as AIEEE and JEE will be replaced by the Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET) from 2013 onwards. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) will be conducting ISEET in 2013.

The ISEET will replace all other entrance examinations for engineering courses. The decision to replace different engineering entrance exams with a single on e was taken to reduce the pressure on students from taking multiple exams.

ISEET will be divided into 2 parts; one will be Main and another one will be Advance. Each part will be of 3 hours duration.  Both the test will be held on same day between 10 am to 5 pm. ISEET 2013 will be conducted either in the month of March or April.

ISEET Main paper will have objective type questions and will have questions based on logical reasoning, critical thinking and comprehension. While ISEET Advance will test candidate’s problem solving skills in subjects such as basic science. The marks scored in the 2 tests will judge the student’s aptitude and scholastic level for engineering and science.

Class 12 exam scores will be given a weightage of 40%. The ISEET Main and Advance will carry a total weightage of not more than 60% however; class XII board exams weightage can go upto 100%. The specific weight to be assigned to board exam, ISEET Main and Advance test scores will be decided by  the state government or the institutes.
