The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) has now revised the rules of admission for class XI.

As per the latest norms the schools require to conduct eligibility exam to admit students from other institutions in class XI. The new guidelines of CBSE are likely to make class X board exam optional. First preference will be given to the students from respective schools over students applying from other institutions unlike previous years when preference was based on the pre-board marks or the marks based on the entrance exam after class X.

The screen test in many schools is scheduled for 2nd week of May. Questions from Mathematics, Science and English will be asked for admission into Science stream while for the Humanities and Commerce stream students will be questioned from Social science, Mathematics and English subjects.

The objective of introducing screening test is to ensure that students of other institutes meet the standards of specific schools.
