The first edition of CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) 2012 Results were announced on March 11, 2012, Sunday. The Results included total marks and the candidate’s AIR (All India Rank) in the exam. CMAT was conducted by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) to reduce the pressure on students of taking multiple MBA entrance exams.
After AICTE revealed the CMAT Results on the AICTE website on March 11, it published the scorecards on March 16, Saturday. While the Results on March 11 declared only ranks and total marks, the scorecards revealed sectional marks too. The CMAT score cards can be accessed on http://www.aicte-cmat.in/
However, the percentiles have not been declared by AICTE. Sources from AICTE reveal that by not this is an effort on the part of AICTE to reduce the pressure on the students by not disclosing percentiles. However, the colleges taking students through CMAT scores will be given the entire list of marks received by all the students in the exam. The institutes have been given an option to calculate percentiles on their own.
The B-schools however are still figuring a way of how to utilize the CMAT score for admissions.
