The ComedK exams to be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 will be attended by over 80,700 aspirants in 144 test centers across Karnataka. This year the consortium of Engineering, Medical and Dental colleges of the state has recorded an increase of 18% in the total number of exam aspirants appearing for the exam.
29,466 candidates will take up the medical exam; 41,187 aspirants appear for engineering while 10,059 will appear for both the streams. The number of seats and colleges for each stream is as follows:
The test centers will follow a block system seating arrangement with 24 candidates in each block. Candidates who violate the examination rules will be debarred from the examination permanently in future and shall also be liable for criminal action.
COUNSELLING FOR PG:
The first round of counselling session for selection of medical seat in PG courses will commence on May 18, 2012 followed by counselling for dental on May 19. The second round will kick off on 28 and 29 of May respectively.
The approximate number of seats for medical PG courses is 280 and 82 for medical diploma. 200 and 2 respectively for dental PG and diploma while there are 12 medical and 19 dental unaided private medical colleges in the state
ID proof and biometrics will be collected by the officials. In case of irregularities proved, Comedk will recommend to the Medical Council Of India to withdraw the registration certificate.
The students should file an affidavit that if he or she has taken any seat, he/she will surrender it and produce documents failing which the seats allotted will get cancelled.
