Eligibility criteria for Delhi University

For Undergraduate courses

Candidate seeking admission to the courses offered by Delhi University should have passed the qualifying examination obtaining minimum marks as specified for each of the courses. The qualifying examinations for the purpose of admission to the first year of undergraduate courses offered by the Delhi University shall be Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination(Class XII)

Note:

  • Rounding of fraction of marks is not permissible.
  • Marks of oral test shall be excluded for working out the percentage of marks in four subjects.
  • No relaxation in any of the minimum eligibility conditions is permissible.
  • Gap year/s would be no bar for purposes of admission to the undergraduate courses.
  • There is no minimum age bar for admission to undergraduate courses in the Delhi Universityand its colleges

Candidates are also given admission for various under graduate courses on the basis of ECA (Extracurricular activity). Not more than 5% sports and ECA quota (subject- wise) is provided. The colleges of Delhi Universitydecide the actual number of seats to be filled on sports basis keeping in view the facilities available.

For Postgraduate courses

Candidates desirous of seeking admission at Delhi Universityfor Masters Degree courses must fulfil the requisite condition of having passed the examinations with the prescribed percentage of marks.

 If the course is not equivalent to Delhi University such candidates would be required to fill up the prescribed equivalence form along with all the documents and a copy of authenticated syllabus of the Delhi university from which he/she has passed the examination.

 Note:

  • Rounding off a fraction of marks for purposes of admission to any course is not permissible.
  • Candidates not fulfilling the eligibility requirements of Delhi University will not be registered and no request for relaxation in the minimum eligibility requirements will be entertained.
  • Candidates who have passed their B A/B Sc/B Com or equivalent examination under 10+2+3 Scheme of examination of Delhi Universityor an examination recognized as equivalent will be eligible for registration to the post-graduate degree courses during the academic session 2009-2010. The applicants who have done their graduation under 14 years scheme but have passed M A First Year/L.L.B. /B.Ed. /B.E. (Degree) etc. examination after graduation, they will be deemed to have put in 15 years of study but their eligibility be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  • If any irregularity is detected after declaration of merit list/issue of Provisional Admission Slip, before or after depositing the fees, the admission of such candidate will be cancelled without any reference to him/her.
