What is ECET?

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has announced the exam dates for Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET), which will be conducted in May 2014. ECET will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014. The ECET is held for taking admission to B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharm programs offered in university and AICTE/PCI approved institutions (1st and 2nd year level as applicable) in A.P. for academic year 2014-2015.

Eligibility Criteria for ECET Exam 2014 –

  • They should be of Indian nationality.
  • They should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
  • They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto for admission into the relevant B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharm programs into the courses corresponding to the Diplomas.

Application Procedure for ECET Exam 2014

  • Candidates who wish to apply for ECET-2014 are requested to fill the particulars carefully in online application. The required information should be collected from the relevant documents.
  • Payment of registration fee can be done by either of the two methods:
    • AP Online/E-Seva/Mee-Seva
    • Debit/Credit Card

Paper Pattern for ECET Exam 2014 –

  • The entrance test is of three hours duration and question paper consists of total 200 questions as per scheme of entrance.
  • All questions will be objective type (Multiple choices only).
  • Each question carries one mark.
  • Timings of test are 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.

  • Last date for uploading online applications with fine (Rs.5000/-):Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
  • Start of downloading hall tickets from the website:Friday, May 02, 2014.
  • Date of the examination: Saturday, May 10, 2014.
  • Declaration of Results: Monday, May 19, 2014.
