VITEEE 2009 has come and gone. For those who attempted the entrance test of the famous Vellore Institute of Technology this year, it was a mixed bag of reactions.
On one hand, students were happy that the paper was not as tough as it could have been, Whereas on the other hand, students were disappointed over alleged mistakes in the question paper leading to some confusion.
This year's VITEEE paper was well laid out in all other aspects and had equal number of questions in all sections. The Authorities had also decided not to let students walk away with the actual entrance exam question paper booklet making it that much harder for students to analyze their answers.

Here's a General analysis of VITEEE 2009 paper.

The paper comprised of 120 questions to be completed in 150 minutes. Depending on the student's interest, the optional sections would have been Either Mathematics - for Engineering Aspirants Only or Biology - For Medical seat aspirants Only. 
For every correct answer 1 mark was awarded. There is no negative marking in VITEEE 2009.

Difficulty level of the Paper
The paper was simple. There were a number of questions that focused on some key topics and some students were annoyed a few questions had mistakes leading to confusion.
As it was an easy paper overall, Expected Cutoff for VITEEE 2009 could be a tad higher at around 90 to 92+ Marks Out of 120.
For those who may score lesser there is still hope. The Biotechnology Engineering Branch cutoff is expected to be slightly lower at around 85.

A Section Wise look at the Paper

PHYSICS
This section was loaded with theoretical questions with Only 15% of the questions being numerical problems.
Questions from Electrostatics and Electromagnetic Induction dominated this section as compared to Optics. Questions based on Modern Physics and Electronics and Communications were also present. If you were a CBSE student you may have fared better others in this section as most questions pertained to CBSE relevant syllabus. This question paper would also have been more familiar to students who studied +2 under TamilNadu State Board and also for students who used NCERT text books as study materials.
Overall, The Physics section was a Average score-able, theoretical one.

CHEMISTRY
A simple student friendly section so to speak. All Students from different State Level Boards could have easily scored well in this part.
Organic Chemistry questions dominated this section, Physical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry questions were in much lesser numbers.
Overall, The Chemistry section too was a Theoretical one with several Easy score-able questions.

MATHEMATICS
Most VITEEE aspirants felt let down in this section. It was very lengthy with a number of derivative based problems.
Questions on topics like Probability, Statistics, Discrete Maths, and Three Dimensional Geometry were the highlights of this section.Questions on Complex numbers were significantly higher in number than questions based on Calculus. Trigonometry questions were in conspicuously lesser numbers.
Overall, this section was a Lengthy one with Average scoring possibilities. If you have actually managed to answer most questions, your score will definitely reflect its distinction.

BIOLOGY
Questions based on Genetics and Applied Biology were prominent whereas questions based on Life Processes formed a small percentage.
Yet Another section that required students to have a Theoretical approach to score well. Students from CBSE would have found this section fairly easy whereas Students from some State Boards may have been surprised by some out of syllabi questions.
Overall, an Easy section with Average to High scoring possibilities.
