The registration and orientation program for around 169 BTech and PhD students was conducted at IIT-I (Indian Institute of Technology – Indore) on July 23, 2012.
The program was held at PACL campus of the institute where 119 BTech students were enrolled and 50 candidates were shortlisted for PhD program.
Sources from the institute addressed the students stating that IIT-I has enrolled 23 female candidates out of 119 students in 2012 BTech batch. With this the institute has achieved the highest gender ratio among all IITs. The institute will introduce a 2-year MSc program in Physics and Chemistry and MTech program for engineering students in 2013-14.
The students were also briefed on how to cope with the study pressure of IIT. Classes for autumn semester of 2012 will begin from today, July 25, 2012.
