Karnataka takes initiative to create ecosystem of entrepreneurs

The state government of Karnataka has selected 183 engineering colleges for developing an ecosystem of entrepreneurs.

The engineering students of these colleges can present their ideas to impressIT which is a platform for young engineering students. The best 10 entries will be awarded and exhibited in the BangaloreIT.biz event scheduled from October 17 to 19, 2012 and students will be recruited in companies such as Infosys and SAP.

The students will get mentors equivalent to Infosys executive co-chairman and managing director of SAP Labs.

 India urgently needs to develop more new product companies especially in Bangalore. Students can take help of their colleges for submitting their ideas and may also get suitable funds based on the business prospective of the idea. In turn this will add more jobs in Karnataka.

The sector is creating an ecosystem for IT-enabled services, IT and Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM). To facilitate electronics manufacturing, ELCINA, industry body has associated with VIC (Vittal Innovation City) to introduce country’s first ESDM cluster in Ananthpur district of Karnataka.
