Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology to cut down theory classes

Currently, MANIT (Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology) is planning to reduce the theory classes in order to concentrate more on the practical studies. This issue was raised at the senate meeting held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012.

The important academic decisions were discussed in this particular senate meeting. The decision making authorities included the premier NIT’s - registrars, directors, heads and deans of the departments and 3 external members as well.  

The main objective of the meeting was to reduce theory classes in order to allot more time for practical studies including research and other work.

Moreover, the senate meeting also focused on to revising the UG, PG and PhD programs to make it more comprehensive for the students.   The board of studies (BOS) including the head of the department, professors and two external experts advise amendments in the programs as per requirement. For final decision the minutes of the senate meeting are sent to the board.
