MNNIT Allahabad student grabs a job offer of Rs 1.33 cr from Facebook

A B.Tech final year student of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad has received a job offer of Rs 1.33 crore ($262500) per annum from the social networking site Facebook.

Sources from MNNIT revealed that an engineering student of the institute, who refused to disclose his name for security reasons, got a letter on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from Facebook about confirmation of his appointment at an annual salary package of $262500. He had to clear 9 rounds of telephonic interview before the final appointment.

Many students of MNNIT have grabbed lucrative job offers, out of which over 30 of them have been offered pay packages of above Rs 10 lakh from big giants such as Amazon and Microsoft.

Various core companies, apart from software recruiters such as Amazon, Microsoft and Adobe visited MNNIT to hire engineering students this year. Out of the total of 850 students across 11 branches, 820 have already been placed.

Sources from placement cell revealed that after getting the news, teachers and students are rejoicing on the student’s success. This is the first ever biggest job offer made to an engineering student of any institute in India. Moreover, this is the first time Facebook has hired a student from NIT. The student would join Facebook in June this year after completing his final exams.
