CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design): -
It's an all India examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT, Bombay), on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Education, Government of India. CEED is a qualifying examination for admission to Post Graduate M.Des. programs at the Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay; IDDC, IIT Delhi; CPMD, IISc Bangalore; design Program, IIT Kanpur.
NIFT Entrance Test: -
National Institute of Fashion Technology is a pioneer in envisioning and evolving fashion business education in the country through a network of twelve professionally managed domestic centres. NIFT offers B.Des. (Fashion Design), B.Des. (Leather Design) B.Des. (Accessory Design), B.Des. (Textile Design), B.Des. (Knitwear Design), B.Des. (Fashion Communication) in the design discipline at undergraduate level and M.Des. (Master of Design) at master level.
NID Entrance Test: -
It'is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education , applied research, training, design consultancy services and outreach programmes. NID includes Courses like Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) and Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD), admissions programmes is made through an entrance test conducted by the institute usually in the month of January. The test is conducted separately for both the UG and PG programmes.
Pearl Academy of Fashion Entrance Exam: -
It is conducted for admission process for its 4 year undergraduate courses in various fields related to designing and fashion like fashion design, textile design, jewellery design, communication design, fashion business management and fashion retail management.
Undergraduate Courses: -
For undergraduate programmes - 10+2 with a minimum of 50% from any recognized board of education. Having a portfolio of sketches, drawings and other artistic creations.
Graduate Courses: -
The applicant should be a bachelor’s degree holder in architecture or design or interior design or equivalent to be eligible for admission. Again to be eligible to apply, one can also be a professional diploma holder in design or a B.F.A degree holder. Moreover a master’s degree holder in Arts or computer application or science can also apply.
Fashion Design Exam Patterns
1. Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED)
The duration of examination will be 3 hours and it will be divided in two parts
Part I: -
1. Visual Perception
2. Creative Ability
Part II: -
1. Written Communication
2. Ability to express precisely one’s thoughts on a given topic.
3. Ability to comprehend a given passage in English and summarize it
NID Examination: -
In the examination questions are asked to check the candidate’s aptitude and skills for design by testing a candidate’s mental ability, creativity, drawing and communication skills and worldview. Those who qualify the written test are called for studio tests and personal interviews.
NIFT Examination: -
Candidates will first be short listed on the basis of the written examination. After that short listed candidates will be called for Situation Tests, Interview and General Discussions. Written test will be on the basis of the programme a candidate has applied for. Written test is meant to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the programme they have applied. Pearl Academy of Fashion Entrance Test (PAF): -
For admission to Under Graduate courses PAF Entrance Test, 2010 is to be a bachelor’s degree holder in any discipline. The application should have secured an aggregate of 50% in the bachelor’s program. Application form is available online and offline at the cost of Rs 1000 to Rs 1150 respectively payable either in cash or demand draft in favor of Pearl Academy of Fashion at New Delhi.
