Four PAF students bag the coveted Vogue Honors Award

14 May 2012, New Delhi/ Jaipur/ Chennai: Students of Pearl Academy of Fashion once again proved their design calibre to the fashion and design world. Four students of Pearl Academy of Fashion, India’s leading fashion and design institute- Aakriti Arora (Delhi), Ashish Dhaka (Delhi), Disha Sharma (Jaipur) and Sanjana Jain (Chennai) bagged the coveted Vogue Honors Awards for 2011. 

Vogue, the world’s leading fashion magazine, holds a pan-India competition in order to promote promising young design talent. The top management of Vogue: Priya Tanna, Anita Shroff Adjania and Bandana Tewari, were the judges for the competition.

In its third edition, the competition witnessed more than 1000 registrations from over 100 top fashion colleges in India. Themed as ‘Fashion and Styling in the 1970s’, the designs interpreted by students were innovatively presented. They showcased their designing prowess on the ramp with creative use of fashion designing and styling.

Congratulating the winners, Dr A K G Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion said, “I would like to congratulate all students of PAF who have won the prestigious Vogue Honors Award and have added another feather in our hat of achievements in the design industry. The collections showcased by the students were marked by freshness and originality. Platforms like these provide new opportunities for the promising designers to showcase their work and reach new horizons.”

Courses at Pearl Academy of Fashion ensure students learn modern concepts and techniques, industry interaction and global exposure, combining practical experience with a strong academic background. All the winners are from the Fashion Design course which focuses on developing innovative designs based on sound technological competence.
