IIT JEE Exam to be conducted on 8th April, 2012

Indian Institute of Technology has announced the dates for IIT JEE which will be conducted in April 2012. The IIT JEE entrance exam will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2012.

IIT-JEE 2012 is a single-stage examination divided into two papers. Each paper is of 3 hours duration and consists of 3 separate sections, comprising of questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics.

 IIT JEE 2012 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should have passed the final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

The candidates should have passed 3 or 4-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

The candidates, who qualify Screening Test of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), are qualified to appear in the main examination.

Application Procedure for IIT JEE

Applicants can apply for the IIT JEE Exam by the online or offline methods.

Offline method: -

Applicants can purchase the admission form from any of the Union Bank branches. The price of the form is Rs. 500/- for reserved category students and Rs.1000/- for other categories. Other option is to buy it directly from any of the IIT’s.

Online method: -

Students can visit any of the IIT websites and fill the form online. Once you have filled in the details, you can take a print of the form and send it to the concerned address alongside the challan. The fees can be paid at any branch of the Union bank.

IIT JEE 2012 Paper Pattern

IIT-JEE 2012 is a single-stage examination divided into two papers. Each paper is of 3 hours duration and consists of 3 separate sections, comprising of questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics.

Paper 1:- It has a total of 84 questions. Each subject has 28 questions and the pattern is exactly the same for all the subjects. Each question carries 3 marks. Hence the maximum mark for the paper is 252.

Paper 2:- It has a total of 57 questions. Each subject has 19 questions and in this paper the pattern is exactly the same across the subjects. But in this paper each question has different marks, each subject had 79 marks and the maximum mark for the paper is 237.

Important Dates: -

IITJEE entrance exam will be conducted on-Sunday, April 8, 2012.The exam timings are mentioned below:

Paper 1 - 9:00 to 12:00 hrs. (IST)
Paper 2 - 14:00 to 17:00 hrs. (IST)

IITJEE Results will be declared on Friday May 18, 2012.

IIT JEE April 2012 will be conducted in 126 cities all across India.
