JEE Apex Board has announced the exam dates for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2013. The JEE Main will now be held in two parts - Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main offline version was held on April 7, 2013 and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main online version was held between Monday, April 8 and Thursday, April 25, 2013.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) will be conducted in two parts -JEE (online) and JEE (offline) for admission to undergraduate engineering program in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions etc. Now, AIEEE will be known as JEE Main and IIT-JEE as JEE (Advanced).

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2013

• Only those candidates who have passed their class 12th exam or any other qualifying examination in 2011 or 2012 or those who are appearing in their class 12th exam or any other qualifying examination in 2013 are eligible to appear in JEE Main - 2013.
• Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1988 are eligible. However, in the case of scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST) and persons with disabilities (PWD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PWD candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the secondary education board/university certificate will only be considered.

Application Procedure for JEE Main 2013

Candidates appearing for JEE Main and/or JEE (Advanced) 2013, are required to apply only online. The candidates are further advised to visit the website before filling up the application form for ascertaining their eligibility for appearing in examination as well as for admission. The online registration form will be available on JEE Main website from November 8, 2012 to December 15, 2012.

Paper Pattern for JEE Main 2013

Mode of Examination

The Paper-1 (described below) of JEE Main will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. offline (pen and paper based examination) mode and online (computer based examination) mode. The Paper-2 of JEE Main will be conducted only in pen and paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either both pen and paper based or computer based examination modes for Paper-1 only.
