The last installment of the all-India Management Aptitude Test 2013 (MAT 2013) concluded on Sunday, December 1, 2013.
The All India Management Association (AIMA) in New Delhi conducts the MAT as the national entrance test for admission into Master of Business Administration (MBA) and equivalent programs offered by various participating institutes. MAT result is accepted by All India Management Association - Centre for Management Education (AIMA-CME) as well as other All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved management institutes and university departments. The test is held in several cities across India four times in a year in the months of February, May, September and December.
As per some students who wrote the MAT in December, 2013, overall the paper was not tough. Although the English and Logical Reasoning (LR) sections were easy, the General Knowledge (GK) and Mathematics sections were the toughest, added the students. No surprise elements or glitches were reported during the test.
Some test-takers claimed that the paper was tough, with Mathematics being the toughest and Intelligence plus Critical Reasoning being the easiest. Mathematics questions were out of pattern, added some.
Some students claimed that the Data Interpretation (DI) section was very tough. The questions on GK were tricky and hence all of them could not be solved.
As per another candidate who wrote the test, a question in the Mathematics section was incorrect and hence confusing.
The scores of MAT are valid for one year in many management institutes.
