What is MAT May 2016?

AIMA MATAll India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi conducts Management Aptitude Test (MAT) for admission to MBA and equivalent programs of various participating institutes. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programs. Any B-School - national or international - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. The largest test of its kind in the nation, MAT will continue to be your passport to over 600 B-Schools across India. The MAT May paper based test will be held on Sunday, May 01, 2016 and computer based test will be conducted from Saturday, May 07, 2016 onwards.

Eligibility for MAT May 2016:

Candidates should have completed graduation in any discipline from any recognized university.

  • Final year students of graduate courses can also apply.

Application Procedure for MAT May 2016:

  • Option 1: Candidates can apply online by uploading image of photograph and signature. Or
  • Option 2: Candidates can apply online without uploading image of photograph and signature.

  • All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only.
  • The duration of the test is 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • There are 200 questions. All questions are compulsory. Each question has four answer options marked (1), (2), (3) and (4).
  • All questions carry equal marks. There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

Tips by AIMA:

  • Candidates should take the questions in order, but do not waste time pondering over those that seem extremely difficult or unfamiliar to you. A wise practice is to first answer the questions you are sure of.
  • Although the MAT stresses on accuracy more than speed, it is important to use the allotted time wisely. Make every effort to pace yourself by making yourself familiar with the mechanics of the test.
  • The directions explain exactly what each set of questions requires to answer those questions. Read all test directions carefully.
  • Read each question carefully and thoroughly.
  • Before answering a question, determine exactly what is being asked.
