Q. Briefly tell us about the institute?
Leeds Met India, Bhopal is a collaborative venture between Leeds Metropolitan University, UK and JSWS Bhopal for the exclusive delivery of Leeds Met UK courses and awards in a contemporary, state of the art purpose built campus at Bhopal, India. The origins of Leeds Metropolitan University date back more than 100 years and today it is one of the largest and most popular universities of the UK, having the best placement record. It is for the first time ever, that an university of such stature recognized world over is coming to India in one of its kind conglomerate. Academic standards in India will replicate the UK study experience as the world renowned Leeds Met UK faculty will visit and teach 30% of the course content to students at Leeds Met India. An academic director will be seconded on a full time basis to supervise and ensure smooth functioning of the Bhopal Campus. Students will have an access to the university's vast online e- learning resources. They will also get an opportunity to study one semester at Leeds Met UK to enhance their career prospects and interpersonal skills. They would get an exposure spanning across two continents. All students will be awarded an internationally recognized degree from Leeds Metropolitan University UK. Q. What are the courses offered? Leeds Met India, Bhopal will offer university’s universally recognized management qualification in the field of International Business, Business Studies Management, Retail Marketing Management and International Hospitality management. Q. Tell us about the admission process at Leeds. Selection & Eligibility criteria: The selection is based on candidate’s performance in the 10+2 examination (HSC). Students need to score minimum 60 % marks in HSC with 60% in English subject or IELTS score of 6.0. Important Dates: Issue of application for Leeds Met India, Bhopal- admission are now open for 2009 entry. Last date for issue of application 25August, 2009 Last date for receipt of filled-in application 7 September, 2009 Academic session begins 24 September, 2009 Q. What is the application process? The application forms is free of cost and can be downloaded from Leeds Met India, Bhopal website www.leedsmetindia.in. Students can also contact / email on 09203 901285 / 09826451661/ 09826072530, admininfo@leedsmetindia.in and forms can be sent to them via courier.  Q. What is the fee structure like? For all business courses the fee is Rs.5,75000 for three years and for hospitality course the fee is Rs.9,00000 for four years. Q. What kind of background and profile does your institute look for in new students? As said earlier, the selection is based on candidate’s performance in the 10+2 examination (HSC). Students need to score minimum 60 % marks in HSC with 60% in English subject or IELTS score of 6.0. Q. Is there any sector of function specific focus while targeting companies for placement? No, there is no specific sector we will be focusing. Q. Does your institute offer scholarships or loans? Yes the students can sit for scholarship and the details are given below: 100% tuition fee waiver 5,75,000/- 95% and above - 12th Board One year tuition fee wavier 1,50,000/- 90% and above - 12th Board One semester tuition fee wavier 70,000/- Scholarship test One year hostel fee wavier (twin sharing) 70,000/- Scholarship test One semester hostel fee wavier (twin sharing) 35,000/- Scholarship test Q. What are future plans for the institute? We plan to offer postgraduate courses by 2010 including MBA and M.Sc in various disciplines.
