Q. Briefly tell us about the institute?

Located in a scenic valley in the IT hub of Kochi, Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies is driven by a single minded focus on imparting value based management education to equip young professionals to make their mark in the corporate world. The education at Rajagiri goes beyond academics and concentrates on the development of holistic personality of the students.

The Rajagiri Group of Institutions was born out of the educational vision of Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of CMI congregation. The Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) is the first indigenous religious congregation of India and their vision for education places emphasis on the development of humane individuals, proficient, competitive and at the same time sensitive to the world around.

Q. What are the courses offered?

The Centre has under its umbrella the Departments of Business Administration and Personnel Management of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (RCSS) and Rajagiri Business School offering the PGDM course.
The Department of Business administration of RCSS offers the two year full time MBA program spread over four semesters and a summer internship leading to a degree in Master of Business Administration (MBA).
The Department of Personnel Management of RCSSoffers the two year full time MHRM program, spread over four semesters and a summer internship leading to a degree in Master of Human Resources Management (MHRM). Rajagiri Business School offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a two year full time program spread over six trimesters and a summer internship. Tell us about the admission process at Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies.

Q. What is the eligibility criterion?

For MBA/MHRM: To be eligible to apply for the MBA and MHRM courses, the candidates must appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by the All India Management Association (aima).

Selection will be based on the MAT score and the Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. For PGDM: To be eligible to apply for the PGDM course, the candidates must appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by the All India Management Association (aima) or must appear for the Common Aptitude Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs).
Selection will be based on the MAT/CAT score and the Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by Rajagiri Business School.

Q. Tell us about the faculty?

The industry experienced and sound academics as faculty at Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies Institutes are known for being mentors to the young managers. Faculty with long years of experience in industry and academia and credited with published research in India and abroad are the back bone of our Institutions.

Q. What kind of infrastructure and facilities is present in this institute?

Computer Centre: The computer centre has an elaborate network of workstations coupled with a 2MBps VSNL internet connection. The computer centre is equipped with Compaq HP Proliant DL 380 with Xeon Processor and HP Proliant ML 350 with Xeon Processor.

Library: The library is equipped with over 10000 books (over 8150 titles), 384 CDs, 100 journals, 39 magazines and 10 newspapers. Adding to the extensive knowledge base are online databases such as Questia, British Council Online, SAGE, EBSCO, EPW, PROWESS and DELNET.

Canteen: The canteen is run by specialist restaurateurs. The canteen caters to all students and staff in the campus and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in addition to snacks, ice creams, tea/coffee/other juices.

Cafeteria: The cafeteria is equipped with a snack bar, coffee vending machine, television and telephone facilities and provides respite from the day’s hectic schedules. . The snack bar offers snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Hostels: Boys and Girls Hostels are inside the campus.

Boys hostel –All the rooms in the boys hostel are double rooms. The boys hostel has the capacity to accommodate 226 students.
Girls Hostel – The girls hostel has both single and double rooms. The hostel has a capacity to accommodate 200 students.

Both the hostels have student mess facilities. The hostels offer facilities of study hall, television and telephone facilities. Internet facility is provided in all the rooms in both the hostels.

Health Club: State-of-the-art multi gymnasiums, separate both for boys and girls, is available in the campus.

Sports facilities: Indoor and outdoor courts and facilities for various games and sports are available in the campus.

Chavara Hall with seating capacity of 1300 people, is at the heart of all functions in the campus. Its breathtaking waterfront view along with the natural surroundings adds to the grandeur of the hall that has been named after Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara.

Communication Laboratory

This is a special purpose facility for teaching, learning and research in the areas of communication, individual and group behavior. The specific contexts for which this facility is being used are the courses of Business Communication, Marketing Management and Organisational Behavior. The facility is also used for Management Development Programmes and English Remedial Programmes.

Q. What kind of background and profile does your institute look for in new students?

We have a diverse student mix. We welcome students from different regions, and different backgrounds in terms of their first degrees.

Q. Is the placement cell active in this institute?

The Placement Cell is a proactive department that endeavors to secure the future of our students, includes private cells for the conduct of interviews and GDS. Air conditioned and well furnished cubicles for student interviews and viva-voce.
