Abhyudaya - The rising sun; a promise of hope; a mark of all beginnings. It is to this spirit that IFMR pays tribute, through its annual B-Fest aptly christened, Abhyudaya. Famed for its unique events - Abhyudaya, brings together talent from across the country for two days of intense competition of skill and knowledge, with an objective of bringing out the future business leaders. It celebrates acumen, intellect, talent and perseverance and we award the magnates of tomorrow.

Abhyudaya is a competitive platform for mangers of tomorrow and this year will be the 5th edition of Abhyudaya ’10 on 20th and 21st February, 2010. Year after year, over 200 B-Schools and Undergrad Colleges from around India, including the top B-schools IIMs, XLRI, FMS, XIMB, MDI, IITs are invited to participate in management games including the Business Plans, Case Studies, Banking Simulation, Bussiness Quiz, etc. that test their skills, ability and perseverance throughout the 2 days.

Event details:

Chakraviyuh:
This event, tests the students skills in applying marketing strategies into business situations.

Samayavastha:
An event , where the participants have to analyze statistical data of a capitalist economy and design a model which predicts the nature of recession and thereby the cyclicality involved in that economy.

Adhikoshana:
This event, helps understanding the concept of how investment banking works.

Swadhaya:
The event will basically be testing the future HR managers for managing the situation ranging from Conflict management to Appraisal system. There will be an enacted situation highlighting various HR problems which have to be resolved.

Aahvahan:
A B-plan event, where the participants have to devise a B plan based on social issues related to the development sector. It would ideally help participants unearth the potent business opportunities in the so far secluded development sector.

Nirvah
This would help test the perseverance of the participants and the way they handle pressure situations.

Sanhrarti:
A 3 phased event, where the participants have to face online quizzes, followed by a puzzle solving session and finally a stress interview.

Anvesham:
An event, hinging on the designing and marketing of a search engine. In the first phase, the participants have to design a search algorithm and submit it online. In the next phase, the marketability of the design has to be dealt with.

Krayavikraya:
A stock trading event, where the participants have to trade on a web platform connected to the real market.

Prazna:
An online quiz event, which involves both a business quiz and a general quiz.
