Aniruddh Batra of BITS Pilani tops CMAT September 2012 Chennai-based Ratul Banerjee was ranked at number 2 followed by Gopal Bawal of Mumbai. The minimum marks scored is 36 while the average marks stands at 116. Maximum numbers of registration (11,000) were done in Mumbai of which 9000 applicants took the exam. The top scorers are from cities such as Karnataka, Chennai and Gurgaon. Females constituted about 30% of the total applicants. About 30% of the total applicants were from reserved category. An expert panel formed by the AICTE has declared that around 4-5 questions – each of 4 marks were wrong. The marks secured by any candidate attempting a wrong question will be taken out from a total of 396 and not 400. Candidates can take both the CMAT exams – September and January. Admission for students taking both the exams will be done on the basis of marks and not their ranks. Best of the 2 scores will be considers for admissions.
