BFSI Dominates Goa Institute of Management Placements 2011

The campus placement program at Goa Institute of Management (GIM) for the 2011 batch completed successfully with all 109 students getting placed in leading companies. About 30 companies participated in the campus placement program. The total number of offers received was 111. There was about 24% increase in the average package in comparison to the previous year. The highest package offered was around 16 lakhs per annum. Students also received pre-placement offers from Johnson & Johnson Medical India, Tata Capital, Tata Motors and Wipro. One student from the 2011 batch aspired to set up his own education consultancy.

Sectoral Division:




BFSI sector recruited a large number of students with over 41% of students joining the sector. The participating companies were J.P. Morgan (Global Finance), Citibank Verity Knowledge Solutions (UBS), CRISIL, JP Morgan Chase, Religare, HDFC Life, Goldman Sachs ,TATA AIG and General Insurance. Students were offered profiles such as Investment Banker, Business Analyst, Credit Analyst and Relationship Manager.


IT was the second most preferred sector for students of the 2011 batch. Nearly, 34% of students accepted offers from leading IT companies such as Hewlett Packard and Infosys Technologies.

ITES sector offered 7% of students to work in their companies namely First Source Solutions and eClerx Services Ltd.

Health care, Hospitality and Market Research:

IMRB International, Deloitte and Thomas Cook recruited 7% of students of the 2011 batch.

Manufacturing and Automobile:

About 7% of students accepted offers from manufacturing groups such as Godrej & Boyce and Telcon.

Telecom and Media:

Very small percentage i.e 4% of students joined telecom and media companies such as Vodafone, Star Den and The Nielsen Company.

The successful campus placement at Goa Institute of Management exhibited growing corporate interest in the talented graduates of GIM.
