Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 day-7 witnessed about 61 specially-abled candidates who turned up with their high spirits to take up the challenging entrance test. These students have proved that mental strength is required for cracking a competitive exam and not the physical strength.

All required support was provided by Prometric India to these students on October 19, 2012. These differently-abled (DA) students had requested for the required arrangements during their exam. Along with the special arrangements, Prometric also allotted dedicated testing labs across various test centers to these students.

All the specially-abled test takers successfully finished their exam. Every year arrangements are made by the technical provider for such candidates.

These 61 test takers came from various categories such as locomotive disability, hearing impairment, visual impairment or low vision and cerebral palsy among others.

Based on the assistance requested, DA candidates accompanied with them testing assistive devices such as hearing aid, abacus (with calculator), wheel chair, Scribble/reader and magnifying screen. About 3% seats at IIM’s are reserved for disabled candidates.
