The Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to the postgraduate management programs offered by 13 IIMs and other top B-schools of the country. CAT 2012 will be held from Thursday, October 11, 2012 to Tuesday, November 06, 2012.

When compared to last year the registration number for CAT 2012 have increased by about 4% indicating that B-Schools still offer an attractive future for many aspirants. As per the IIMs and Prometric, 2.14 lakh vouchers were sold by the time the registrations closed for CAT 2012. This is 9, 000 more than last year’s figure of 2.05 lakh. This increase in registration is seen as a positive indication by the CAT organizing committee. The registration of female candidates has also gone up this year.

Prometric India, IIM’s partner in developing and delivering CAT 2012, has a team of Candidate Care representatives which provides additional support to candidates like special testing accommodation. The candidates are encouraged to view the test day video that is uploaded on the CAT website so that they can familiarize themselves with the test day procedures and carry all the required documents to ensure smooth running on the test day.
