CAT (Common Admission Test) 2012 applicants will get one more day to take the test. The CAT 2012 testing window of 20 days has been extended by one day and will be held over a period of 21 days beginning from October 11, 2012 till November 6, 2012.

One more day has been added to the testing window period to give more flexibility to the students taking CAT 2012. Test center, date and time will be allocated on first-come-first served basis so candidates are suggested to apply early.

This small change was incorporated based on the feedback of stakeholders and candidates who reviewed the internal process. The change is positive and aims to ease the process. This is the only change made to CAT 2012 and the test timings and pattern will remain same as last year.

The earlier computer-based tests comprised of few technical glitches. At present, the company is working to conduct CAT 2012 smoothly. Sources from Prometric India expressed that as the test is conducted at multiple places and cities with thousands of computers interconnected, technical malfunctioning is obvious. Like previous years, exam centers with adequate physical and technical infrastructure have been selected. All exam venues will be examined properly before commencing the technical readiness and wide operational trials such as preparing and testing all computer systems to be used to hold CAT 2012.

Prometric will ensure that the training and certification of all exam center staff has been completed before the testing window commences and also that they are well prepared to help students during the exam. The company has also accommodated contingent facilities in all locations to meet any unexpected technical issues that cannot be solved immediately.
