Q. Why did you choose to join “ ”? What were the other institutes that you were considering? Which criteria must MBA aspirants keep in mind while choosing/applying to B Schools
I wanted to join any of the Top 5 management institutes.
Gather as much details about the school from the students in terms of academics,placements etc
Q. How did you prepare for CAT? What were your strong and weak areas? How much time did you allocate for your preparation?
I attended Byjus CAT Classes in Bangalore.Beside that I appeared for CL mock test series also.Quant and Verbal are my strong areas.2 hrs a day
Q. Tell us in detail your preparation strategies for MBA Entrance exams.
For exams like JMET you have to study some advanced maths while XAT requires more Verbal skills when compared to CAT
Q. How did you find the computer-based test format, Was it easier or harder than expected?
Since I didn’t have to face any technical glitches it went smooth
Q. Do you expect any significant question format changes in this year’s CAT
The questions will be more standardized across different sessions and dates.Moderate to slightly higher difficulty expected
Q. Can you tell us what are the mistakes commonly made by CAT candidates while preparing and while actually taking the test?
It is not a theory paper where you have to mug up lot of stuff to get to the top.Usually a calm mind with good preparation come handy more than anything
Q. What would you advice a CAT 2010 aspirant to focus on while preparing for the exam?
Get hold of ur basics ,don’t panic for technical glitches u have no control over it.Appear for Mock CAT s and evaluate ur performance with utmost seriousness
Q. Now that you have made it to a B-School, how do you find it? Has MBA turned out the way you thought it will be?
It is same the way I expected it would be
Q. How would you advice CAT 2010 aspirants to prepare for each section?
Since it’s a CBT it is not very easy to come back and do the questions unless you mark them for later use.So make proper use of that facility.Give more or less equal weightage to each section.Again since it’s a CBT long detailed DI and Reading Comprehension questions are less expected.Rather there will be more reasoning based question from either of these sections.Quant would be more or less similar from previous papers.But always expect a surprise.
