The first CMAT (common management admission test) exam of this academic year which began on September 27, 2012 went off smoothly till Sunday, September 30, 2012. Today is the last day of testing period for this edition. Many students expressed that the paper was easy overall.  Maximum applicants appeared for the exam on Sunday i.e 26% of the 60,000 applicants for CMAT.

A student who took the test on first day revealed that the general knowledge and mathematics sections were a bit challenging but on the whole paper was easy and simple to crack.

After the first 2 slots were over, sources from AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) revealed that the the exam was conducted smoothly at all the 67 examination centers across 53 cities in India. Most of the participants were from Mumbai followed by Pune and Ahmedabad.

On an average attendance stood at 90% except Sunday when 92% students appeared for the exam. Maximum number of aspirant had scheduled their slots on weekend – Saturday and Sunday. CMAT would be held biannually this year. The first edition will end today, October 1, 2012 while the second edition will start later this year. Students can take both the exams and the best of the 2 scores will be considered for admission to management programs in 2013-14.
