Overview:

The final campus placement process at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) for PGPRM 2011 batch concluded on a jubilant note with all the 98 students getting placed in leading companies and government sectors. Over 63 companies participated in the campus placement process and made a total offer of 125. The highest and average domestic package offered was aroundRs 10.50 lakhs/annum and Rs 7.70 lakhs/annum respectively. Four students of PGPRM 2011 batch opted out of placement program. However, IRMA introduced the concept of deferred placement from this year to make placement services available to students who had opted out in the previous placement program.

Sectoral Division:

 

Dairy & Allied Services:

Diary & Allied services sector gave out maximum number of offers to the students at the placement process. Over 25.5% of students accepted offers from the participating companies such as Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Mother Dairy Fruits &Vegetable Ltd., NDDB Dairy Services Kolhapur Milk Union, IDMC, and Kamdhenu Electronics Aakashganga.

Rural Finance Institutions:

Rural Finance sector was the second highest recruiter with 22.4 % of students accepting offers from companies such as Financial Inclusion Network & Operations Ltd. (FINO), Financial Services, Axis Bank Rural Retail Banking ICICI, RMAG, Yes Bank, NABARD, and L & T Finance Rural Asset Financing & Microfinance.

State Government Rural Development Agencies:

About 16% of students accepted offers from Andhra Pradesh Govt Commissioner - Rural Development(CRD), Society for Elimination of Rural PovertySERP, Commissioner - Tribal WelfareCTW (MNREGA & Education), Gujarat Govt - DSAGDevelopment Support Agencyand Kerala Govt Kudumbashree SPEM

Farm Solutions Providers and Agribusiness:

Farm and Agribusiness sector also extended offers to 16% of students to work in companies namely, Agrocom Software Technologies Pvt Limited, ITT Essence of Life, TAFE Farm Equipments, John Deere Crop Solutions, Metro Cash & Carry Neev and ITC e- Choupal.

Corporate Social Responsibility

CSR sector offered 5% of students to work in companies such as  ICICI Foundation Center for Elementary Education and TATA Steel CSR.

Health Care and Consulting

Companies from health care and consulting sector i.e. Charotar Arogya Mandal Shree Krishna Hospital, Sankara Eye Care Institutions India,Ernst & Young Govt Advisory Group and IWMI extended offers to 8% of students.

Others:

Remaining 6% of students joined other sectors represented by FES, AKRSP ( I ), Sahaj SREI E-Village Solutions and Schneider Electric BIP-BOP.

The overwhelming response and confidence shown by the corporate sector in the students of 2011 batch made the final placement process at IRMA a grand success.
