Global Retail Education and Training (GREAT) India in collaboration with Australian Retail College (ARC) is all set to come up with India’s first retail sector business school in Hyderabad.

ARC will provide technical expertise to GREAT (India) along with the program content, explore avenues for graduates with retail players in Australian market and facilitate visits of expert faculty members.

This business school will be located in outskirts of Hyderabad at Gundlapochampalli and will offer exhaustive 1-year full time PG (post graduation) programs in retail entrepreneurship and retail management.

ARC while addressing the media on July 5, 2012 expressed that there are many similarities between the retail sectors of Australia and India and pose similar opportunities and challenges.

India will need 17 million more retail staff by 2022. One of the major challenges in retail sector is to attract and retain career staff and compete with other high growing sectors for trained employees. And in future also the industry will face a rapid increase in demand for the recruits followed by training of these people to make them globally competitive.
