IIM-A apprehends theft of data from its computer network

The IIM-A (Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad) has lodged a complaint in police suspecting data theft from its servers and computer network by unofficial persons.

The institute has been receiving warning e-mails about some unauthorized persons accessing their servers and stealing the data of the institute.

The police has traced 3 IP (Internet Protocol) addresses on the basis of those emails and has asked for more details on the issue from IIM-A.

The police is enquiring the case and refused to reveal more details. It also denied commenting on probability of some insider being involved in the theft.
