The Indian Institute of Management-Indore had launched a course last year aimed at equipping school pass outs with integrated degrees. However, currently the institute is facing some issues with granting bachelor’s degrees. Until the institute is granted approval for bachelor’s degrees, students will receive an IGNOU degree. This comes as an additional burden on students, as they will have to pay extra for the IGNOU degree.
Earlier, IIM-Indore was trying to affiliate itself with the Goa University, in order to offer BBA programs. The Academic council of Goa University had given its approval for the same. However, authorities at the IIM- Indore decided against going with the tie up.
Officials from the premier institute stated that there was no need for the partnership with Goa University. They added that students completing their bachelor’s program will not have to appear for CAT, as they will get a direct entry to the MBA diploma program. Sources also revealed that the five year integrated program had the same value as the PG program offered by the institute after graduation.
