IIM Kashipur Concludes Summer Placement 2012

IIM-Kashipur (Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur) has successfully completed its summer placements for its 1st batch of 2011-13 by placing 37 students for summer internship at reputed firms such as Hero MotoCorp, Tata Communication, Tata Motors, Dabur, ICICI, Jubilant Industries, Airtel and RBI. The batch comprised of 37 students who were extended 43 offers in all from 28 organizations across various sectors, roles and geographies. The highest number of offers was made by Tata Motors.

Sectoral Break Up:

Finance:

Finance sector emerged as the most sought after area with 30% of the batch opting for it. Varied profiles were offered in the areas of Trade Finance, Structured Finance, Commodity Markets, Asset Management, Forex, Project Advisory, Risk Management, Financial Modelling and Business Intelligence by reputed companies such as IDBI Capital, ICICI Lombard, HDFC, RBI, Religare, ICICI Bank, SBI Capital and IDBI Bank.

Operations:

The 2nd most chosen area for summer internship was Operations with 28% of the batch opting for it. The major recruiters in this area were Tata Steel, Perfetti van Melle, Cadila, Tata Motors which offered roles in supply chain quality management, consulting, kaizen, materials requirement planning apart from conventional roles in operations management.

Sales and Marketing:

About 26% of the students opted sales and marketing profiles. The profiles offered were Product Development, Rural Marketing, Retail Marketing, B2B, Social Media Marketing and Market Research amongst many others. The major recruiters in this area were Jubilant Industries, Dabur, Tata Communications, Airtel, Voltas, Hero MotoCorp and Aircel.

Consulting and Others:

About 16% students selected for profiles in the areas of general management, consulting & Social Development. The major companies included Institute of Rural Research & Development, E&Y and Teach for India, which offered profiles in the areas of Expansion Strategy, NGO Management, Due Diligence and Consulting.

Overall the summer placement for 2011-13 1^st batch of IIM-Kashipur was successful.
