The Indian Institute of Management – Kozhikode (IIM-K) will be hosting a five day international workshop on Digital Libraries, from August 20 to August 24, 2012. Reputed officials from the Digital Libraries field will be delivering lectures at the workshop. The aim of the workshop is to conduct advanced and rigorous training programs.

Greenstone – an internationally renowned software system used for developing digital libraries will be used during the workshop. This software is promoted by the New Zealand digital library project research group. The software helps its users, especially, public service institutions, universities and libraries build their own state-of-the art digital libraries. IIMK’s Centre for Development of Digital Libraries (CDDL) has had the privilege of coordinating the Greenstone Support for South Asia for the last six years on behalf of UNESCO.

Nearly 25 participants were admitted for the workshop. These participants are from prestigious Indian institutions and delegates from the Middle East. They will be instructed on how to design and manage digital collections of different publications in different file formats, such as, images, audio and video.
