Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-Kozhikode) is all set to conduct CAT (Common Admission Test) 2012. Sources from the institute have confirmed that Prof. S.S.S Kumar will be the convenor for CAT 2012 this time.

Prof. Kumar, currently the faculty of Finance, Accounting and Control holds an MBA from the S.V University. He has also obtained his doctorate from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

IIM-Kozhikode is the fifth IIM in India to be conducting the CAT exam. The CAT 2011 was conducted by IIM-Calcutta and Prof. Janakiraman Murthy was the CAT 2011 Convenor.

With previous convenors when in office suggesting changes in the CAT exam, CAT 2011 paper pattern underwent major changes. In 2011, the change in the paper pattern to only two sections from the previous three sections pattern were timed at 70 minutes. In addition, candidates could move within the sections but not between the two sections.

This year candidates are eager to know if suggestions for multiple attempts will be pushed by Prof Kumar for CAT 2012. Most academics have suggested that the new CAT 2012 Convenor should focus on making the exam glitch free for the benefit of the students.
