IIM (Indian Institute of management), Rohtak celebrated its first convocation ceremony on March 17, 2012. Vice Chairman Tata Steel and President CII, B. Muthuram was the guest of honour for the event. The other bigwigs who attended the ceremony were Ravi Kant, Vice-Chairman Tata Motors and Chairman of IIM Rohtak board of governors as well as the members of the board of the institute.
Mr. Ravi Kant addressed the event with his inaugural speech. The chairman's speech was followed by the welcome address and report presentation by P Rameshan, director, IIM Rohtak.
IIM Rohtak is the eighth IIM to be established in the country and fifth one to get membership of the international accreditation agency, AACSB. It is also registered with GMAT conducting body, GMAC to promote international applications.
After the report was represented, Mr. Ravi Kant awarded diplomas to 47 graduates of the PGDM batch of 2010-12. Two graduates also received gold medals. Shivank Sharma received a gold medal for best scholastic performance and Ankush Jain received one for overall performance.
