IIM Rohtak Introduces a 2-Stage Short listing Process for 2012 -2014 Personal Appearance Round
The IIMs this year have gone ahead and announced their admission criteria for 2012-2014 well in advance. For quite some years the admission criteria were only announced after the CAT Results were declared.
This positive change is definitely brings a sense of relief for the MBA aspirants as now they know about the selection criteria for GD-PI short listing, Personal Interview and WAT beforehand.
IIM-Rohtak this time has decided to follow a 2-stage filtration process for the personal appearance round for admissions 2012.
Sources from IIM Rohtak reveal that the total batch strength for 2012-2014 will be nearly 120-130 students. The students will be selected on the basis of CAT scores and the Personal Appearance Round, which includes Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis Test (WAT). The final shortlisting will be based on the total of CAT score, PA score and profile score, which would include work experience and past academic records.
The initial shortlisting for PI, WAT (personal assessment) round will be done through a two stage process:
Stage B: After short listing the candidates on the basis of CAT percentile, they will be evaluated on the basis of their past academic records. The cut off scores required for class X, XII and undergraduate are as follows:
The final list of shortlisted eligible candidates will be prepared after these 2 stages.
Scores required by eligible candidates for Final Short listing for PA round:
The weighted scores will be computed for all the eligible candidates based on their categories. The weighted scores are mentioned below:
The female students will be given 20 grace marks. This is an attempt by IIM-Rohtak to maintain gender diversity on campus. IIM –Rohtak will also give non engineering undergraduates 20 grace marks for maintaining subject diversity on campus.
The score assigned to work experience are as follows:
The above mentioned scores will be added to make a Grand Total Score and the top scorers will be called for PA process.
Final list of shortlisted candidates
In order to prepare the final selection list, 50% weightage will be given to CAT total score, scaled to 100. Personal interview and written analysis will be given a weightage of 30%. Weightage of 20% will be assigned for work experience and past academic records.
