With only a week left to CAT 2012 most of the aspirants must be thinking what should be done in last 7 days to get through the exam.

The most important thing is to know how familiar you are with the computer-based test. Many students think that practicing as many mock tests as possible in last days will help them. But it is a myth as taking mock tests repeatedly will only highlight your weaknesses. You need to analyze your mistakes and work on them to improve your performance. Infact, taking mock CATs so close to the exam with no time left to improve on your weaknesses revealed by the practice tests will only demotivate you.  Analyzing your performance in mock tests taken till now will give better Results than taking more mock CATs now.

Do not ignore topics that you feel is not important. This is one of the most common mistakes that most of the students do. Their preparation is based on selected areas told by their friends who took CAT last year. Remember that their experience is based on only one slot for which they appeared. They have no idea about what was asked in other slots. So following such advice may put you in risk. Try to go through the fundamentals of the topics or areas that you have not touched so far.

In these last days, concentrate more on revising all the areas that you have learnt till now. This will help you to retain the topics in your mind afresh and recollect them whenever you need them in the exam hall. It is advisable to prepare a ready reckoner where you can list out all the important concepts and refer it when you have a problem with specific topics.

Build up your speed in Maths. Devote atleast 1 hour every day practicing speed maths concepts and calculations. Whatever concepts you gain in these last days will help you save time during the exam.

Most importantly, do not pay heed to the rumours about the exam. They are only meant to waste your valuable time and distract you. Remember – all that you can do is to give your best shot in the examination hall and hard work always pays off.
