Mc Kinsey, Deloitte and ICICI are top recruiters at IIM Bangalore Placements 2011

The students of Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) batch bagged a total of 461 offers including 84 Pre-placement offers (PPOs) and 147 Lateral placement offers in the 2011 IIM Bangalore placement process. The PGP batch has a class size of 348, out of which 332 students participated in the placement program. 16 students opted out of the placement with the mission to set up their own business. Over 135 companies participated in the campus placement. Mc Kinsey, Deloitte and ICICI extended maximum number of offers at IIM Bangalore placement 2011.

 Functional Division:


The functional division of different sectors is mentioned below in the graph:-




Finance was the most preferred sector for the PGP 2011 batch with 36% of students accepting offers from big financial corporations such as Goldman Sach, Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank, HSBC Global, Citi Global, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch and ICICI. Most of the students were given position in the field of Investment banking, Private & Wholesale Banking Treasury, M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital. Small percentage of students also received offers to work in international locations.


Consulting sector extended offers to 31 % of students to join their sector represented by Kearney, McKinsey & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Arthur D Little, Bain & Co , Oliver Wyman, Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal, Ernst & Young, EXL Services, Booz & Co, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and Siemens Management Consulting.

Sales & Marketing

Sales & Marketing sector recruited 21% of students from PGP 2011 batch. Hindustan Unilever and Procter & Gamble gave most offers to students to work as marketing professionals in their companies. Other players from this sector were Johnson & Johnson, Nokia, Philips, Videocon, Myntra , BMGI, Britannia, Aircel, Airtel, Asian Paints, Aviva, Marico and Diageo.

General Management & Others

About 7% of students joined General Management sector and 6% of students received offers from other sectors.  Narayana Hrudayalaya, Lodha group, Reliance Industries., Ingersoll Rand,Aditya Birla Group , Essar, Hinduja, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tata Administrative Services were the major recruiters in these sectors.

The campus placement program for the 2011 batch at IIM Bangalore exhibited remarkable Results as several students obtained unique positions in diverse sectors of their choice.
