The placement program at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta for PGDM and PGDCM 2011 batch received full support from the corporate world. About 129 companies participated in the placement program which was held for five days. Despite large size of the batch consisting of 381 students, the 2011 batch bagged a total of 464 offers. Mc Kinsey and ICICI were the top recruiters in IIM Calcutta 2011 placement process.

Nearly 31% of the 2011 batch joined the Finance sector, which was represented by global investment banks such as Merril Lynch, Bank of America Citigroup, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley Daiwa Securities and UBS. Students were also given PPOs in this sector. ICICI bank, being the top recruiter at IIM Calcutta placement process extended 19 offers in the domain of Treasury and M&A.
Consulting sector absorbed 24% of students. Mc Kinsey Co. was one of the leading recruiter at IIM Calcutta placement program. Companies such as Feedback Ventures, Arthur D Little, Hewitt , EXL services., BCG, Bain & Co, Essex AT Kearney and Lake Group also made a substantial number of offers to students.
Sales & Marketing
Sales & Marketing sector extended offers to 22% of students to work in their companies to assume sales and marketing positions. Hindustan Unilever, ITC, J&J Consumer Products, Nokia, Kraft Cadbury participated in the placement program 2011.
A very small percentage of students were extended offers in the domain of General Management.
IT & Others
About 15% of the students accepted offer from IT and others sectors.
The successful placement of 2011 batch is an indication that IIM Calcutta continues to be the prime choice for the corporate world.
