NMIMS concludes final placements 2012
The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai has successfully concluded its final placements for 2012. The institute conducted a common placement process for its 4 programs.
A total of 413 students participated in the placement process. The 4 programs included Core MBA, MBA in banking, MBA in Actuarial Science and MBA in Capital Markets. The average salary offered to the batch was Rs 13.04 lakh PA. The highest annual salary offered was Rs 30 lakh. About 121 firms visited the campus out of which 34% were first time visitors. BFSI sector emerged as the top recruiter by extending maximum offers.
Companies such as KPMG, Cognizant, Ernst & Young, Gartner, Avista Advisory, Gallup Consulting, Milliman and I-Maritime Consulting visited the campus to offer roles such as Financial Advisory, Risk Advisory, Marketing and Strategy Consulting, IT consulting and Operations Consulting. Tower Watson and Michael Page from HR consulting space visited campus for the first time.
BFSI sector extended offers to 32% of the total students in a variety of areas such as Corporate Banking, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Treasury, Risk Management, Wealth Management, Strategy, International Banking, Retail banking, Branding, Asset Management, Credit risk and Credit Rating, etc.
The global financial companies recruiting in banking sector included JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Royal Bank of Scotland, Nomura, CitiBank and Deutsche Bank. Indian banks making offers at the institute include HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank and IDBI bank. Public sector banks such as Central bank of India, Bank of India and Allahabad bank also extended offers to the students.
Companies extending offers for financial services sector included India Infoline, Bloomberg, India Bulls, Motilal Oswal Securities Ltd., Darashaw, SBI Caps, ICRA, CRISIL, Axis Sales and Securities, ICICI Secuities, L&T Finance, HSBC Global, UBS Verity, Karvy Private Wealth, Amba Research and FINO.
Media & Advertising
HT Media offered highest salary packages for roles in sales and marketing at NMIMS. Custom Centria and Rediffusion Young & Rubicam also made offers at the campus. Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd made offers for analyst profiles for its channel ET Now and newspaper, The Economic Times.
Bigwigs of FMCG sector such as Reckit Benckiser, ITC, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, Adidas, Red Bull, Dabur, L’Oreal, Wrigley’s, Kelloggs, UB group, Wipro CCL, Carlsberg, Givaudan, Pidilite, Emami, Titan Industries, Whirlpool, Philip Morris, Usha International and Videocon picked students for roles in Branding, International Marketing, Sales & Marketing, Operations & Distribution.
Recruiters such as Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Dell Analytics visited NMIMS for the first time to offer roles in IT sector. Regular recruiters such as Infosys, HP, Wipro technologies, Capegemini, HCL Technologies, Polaris, Virtusa, Tally Solutions, Vinculum, KPIT Cumins, Seclore, Mu-Sigma, NSE-IT and EXL Decision Analytics hired good number of students.
Telecom companies such as IDEA, Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone and Tata Communications offered profiles of Marketing, Business development and corporate HR.
This year campus witnessed a good number of new recruiters making their presence in the campus which includes Nitco Tiles, Ceat Tyres, Thermax and De Décor offering roles ranging from Sales and Marketing, operations to Distribution. WF Limited made an offer for international marketing profile.
Regular recruiters such as Adani group, GE, L&T and RIL extended offers for roles in Sales and Marketing, Startegy, Operations and Finance. DSCL, Vedanta and Aditya Birla Group also offered similar profiles to the students.
Metro Cash & Carry, DHL Express, Thoma Cook, GATI, Boehringer Ingelheim, Fermenta biotech and MyNutrition made offers for profiles in Supply Chain and Sales and Marketing. McDonald’s visited the campus and for the first time extended offers for HR functions and Sales and Marketing profiles.
First time recruiters to the campus contributed about 60 job offers. About 34% recruiters either visited the campus for first time or visited after a long time.
The large number of offers made by the first time visitors at the campus exhibits the growing network and brand name of NMIMS and corporates faith in the products of NMIMS.
