XLRI establishes its first entrepreneurship cell

In a bid to motivate budding entrepreneurs, XLRI-Jamshedpur has established its first ever entrepreneurship cell (E-cell). This move of XLRI’s EDC (entrepreneurship development centre) will facilitate in developing the ecosystem required for any business venture.

The chairperson of EDC inaugurated the cell on July 22, 2012. The cell aims at fostering a group of entrepreneurs with operational and conceptual skills needed for operating a business venture profitably.

The E-cell will help in developing business ideas for students who are keen at becoming entrepreneurs but don’t know how to go about it. Also, it will help potential as well as would-be entrepreneurs with practical guidance, activity ideas, conducting research activities, bank linkages, training entrepreneurs, spotting opportunities and grabbing them.

Moreover, measures will be taken to encourage entrepreneurship in Jharkhand. It will help to utilize the resources in a better way and making the state self-sufficient.

Advisory committee comprising of alumni members, faculty members, government officials and business head have been appointed at the cell to oversee, plan and introduce the activities that would primarily include bank linkages, funding and incubation.

The E-cell will organize activities such as holding all India level business plan contest, seminars and conferences on entrepreneurship, student participation in current start-ups to have an incubation center for start-ups.
