The campus placement process at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai was conducted jointly for all the four Post Graduate Diploma students. The four Post Graduate Diploma 2011 batches have the class size of 328 students. Over 82 companies participated in 2011 campus placement process. Majority of the students took up the profiles of IT, consulting and operations management.
Yes Bank and Cognizant were the largest recruiters. The students of 2011 batch received a total of 361 offers. About 28 students were given Pre-placement offers (PPOs) by companies such as Tata Motors, Hindustan Unilever, Citibank and Proctor & Gamble.

Manufacturing sector extended offers to 1/4th of students to work in the domain of operations, marketing and logistics. The participating companies were JSW, Daimler, Tata Steel, Schneider Electric, Tata Motors, VVF and IFFCO.
FMCG sector selected 21% of students to work in companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Hindustan Unilever, Colgate Palmolive, Pepsi, Nestle, Asian Paints, Godrej, L’Oreal, Cadbury and Proctor & Gamble.
Over 17% of students joined IT/Systems sector to work in firms such as Infosys, Dell, Amazon, ITC InfoTech, Wipro and Accenture. The students were offered roles in marketing and operations management. Amazon offered one of the highest domestic packages.
16% of students joined consulting sector in companies such as Capgemini, Price Water Coopers, Ernst & Young, Cognizant, GEP Consulting, KPMG Accenture and Bristlecone.
BFSI absorbed 12% of the students and extended profiles in commercial banking, institutional banking, risk management, debt syndication, corporate finance, product and strategy development, wholesale banking and financial management. Companies such as ICICI, HSBC, Citibank, JPMC, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered and Barclays took part in placement process. Yes Bank captured top spot as the largest recruiters in 2011 placement process.
Glenmark, Vodafone, Idea, Airtel, Olam International and GSK managed to secure 9% of student to work in their company.
