The postgraduate course is available for both medical and non-medical students.

For making a career in Hospital Administration the individual may be from medical or non-medical background. The patients often faces delay in getting services at the front office, doctor chambers, pharmacy and laboratories in a hospital. The waiting period can also be made little more comfortable. Patients need an assurance as to how much time it will take and would somebody inform them when their turn comes.

At the time of the discharge of a patient there is invariably delay in getting the discharge summary and final bill. This needs coordination among various departments, which can be facilitated by the hospital management professionals. The hospital managers can streamline the workflow and activities in these departments. 

Job Prospects:-

Fresh degree holders may start as assistant hospital administrators or as managers of non-health departments like finance. Opportunities to prosper in this field generally lie in private hospitals, National healthcare organizations and health insurance companies, Pharmaceuticals and Hospital Supply Firms, Medical Software Companies and medical consulting firms.

Remuneration:-

The average starting salary for Hospital Administrator varies from Rs.12,000 to Rs. 40,000 per month vary from organization to organization. There is no constraint in higher remuneration for deserving candidates.
