The Uttar Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Exam (UPPG MEE) 2012 counselling will start from May 15, as per the schedule declared by the state medical education directorate. The counseling will be conducted from May 15 to May 18 in Lucknow.

The counseling will be held at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University (CSMMU) campus. The UPPG MEE 2012 Results were announced on March 1, 2012 and counseling process was scheduled to be held in April. However, the delay in seat allotment process through All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE) delayed the counseling.

Officials revealed that if the counseling for UPPG MEE 2012 would have been conducted before the AIPGMEE, majority of candidates who took UPPGMEE would have also appeared for AIPGMEE. Those who crack the all India test have a tendency of leaving the seat forcing the state medical education directorate to reorganize the counseling process. So in order to prevent effort and time, the counseling process was deferred.

The UPPGMEE 2012 was conducted by CSMMU on February 26 this year and over 3,700 students took the test against 400 seats in PG courses across Uttar Pradesh medical colleges and CSMMU. The Results were declared within 72 hours of the exam. The Results were declared under 2 categories; MDS and MD/MS.

Around 3,243 students appeared in the exam in MD/MS category of which 142 scored above 75% marks.

About 2,154 students scored 50-74% marks while the rest secured 40-49% marks. Under MDS category, 579 students took the exam, out which only 8 could score 75% marks. Nearly 296 candidates secured 50-74% marks while the rest of the candidates score 40-49% marks.
