Revised seat allotment list for the first round of engineering admissions
The start of the centralized admission process (CAP) for engineering courses in Maharashtra on Monday, 26 July, was botched up.
The state’s Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) posted the provisional seat allotment list on its website at 5 pm on Monday marking the beginning of the process of students’ acceptance of their allotted colleges. But, within hours, the DTE withdrew the first round list and issued a fresh one.
It said that the initial list was based on incorrect information in the online option form. Students were allotted printing technology course seats which in colleges that did not even offer that course.
The process of students confirming admissions in their allotted colleges will end on 28 July.
This year, the total number of student intake by 325 engineering colleges in the state is 1.25 lakh. However, after the first round of seat allotment, nearly 34,800 seats remain unfilled.
